Academic Choirs
Both academic choirs meet during the school day and meet the requirements for the arts credit for graduation. Each group performs at at least three district concerts a year and one competition. Students who are enrolled in choir are eligible to receive group voice lessons which rotate throughout the academic day. By participating in vocal lessons students can receive individualize coaching to improve their singing, prepare songs for performance at Cabaret Night, the Spring Vocal Recital, the NYSSMA Solo Festival, and other events. If a student performs exceptionally well on the NYSSMA Solo they may be accepted into the Area All-State Music Festival, and if they receive a perfect score at the highest level, they may be accepted into an All-State Ensemble.
In addition to the academic portion of the choir classes, members of either choir are eligible for a number of other co-curricular activities, such as Blue Notes, Ruby Rhythms, Men in Black, Women in White, Christmas Ensemble, and performances at football games, remembrance ceremonies, and graduation, among others.

Chamber Choir
The Chamber Choir is a smaller, chamber choir that helps students to make the transition from Junior High vocal literature and sight-reading to High School level work. Due to the size, students are able to receive more individualized attention and are able to work at a more comfortable pace, allowing them to join the Concert Choir the following year with confidence and ease.
Concert Choir
The Concert Choir is the main concert choir at Homer High School, performing challenging music (NYSSMA level V & VI) with a high level of musicianship. It meets every day, with some students attending every other day, alternating with their participation in Concert Band. Over the years, the Concert Choir has competed in Washington D.C., Boston and New York City, through the Heritage Music Festivals and Festivals of Music, and looks forward to competing on tour in the spring of 2024.
